…Thanksgiving Ham with Apple and Bacon Chutney

As much as I love Christmas, I have to say that my favourite holiday meal happens at Thanksgiving. You get all of the amazing food but half the busyness of Christmas. This year our Thanksgiving ham was roasted with an apple chutney flavoured with bacon and sage.

Ingredients:
- One cooked ham sliced into 1/2 inch slices
- 3 apples cut into chunks
- 2 onions roughly chopped
- 3 tbsp chopped sage
- 5 slices of bacon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 2 cloves of chopped garlic

Method:
1. Over medium heat fry the sliced bacon until the fat has been rendered and the meat is brown

2. In the same pan fry the onions, garlic and apples until soft and cooked down then add the ground clove and sage and allow to cool
3. Arrange the sliced ham in an over proof dish and intersperse the chutney among the slices

4. Bake the ham uncovered in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes then serve

Enjoy!
